Getting Started with the Wireless TempSensor

Setting Up

  • Insert 2 AA batteries into the charger and place the TempSensor in the charger.
  • Click the button on the charger to start charging.
  • Charge the TempSensor for at least 30 minutes before use.

Pairing

  • Select a recipe that uses the TempSensor and the Brava will guide you through the initial pairing process. Initial pairing might take up to 60 seconds.
  • After the initial pairing, press the button on the charging cradle and remove the probe from the cradle to connect automatically. You should only need to go through the pairing process again if you are having trouble connecting.

Using

  • Insert the probe horizontally into the thickest part of the meat. Avoid angling the probe up towards the lamps or touching the tray.
  • Ensure the probe is inserted all the way to the handle as having the shaft exposed could lead to faulty temperature readings or damage to the probe.
  • Probe should not touch bottom or sides of tray.

Cleaning

  • Clean the TempSensor using a sponge, soap, and warm running water.
  • Do not use anything abrasive to scrub the black ceramic handle.  Do not soak the TempSensor in water or wash it in the dishwasher.

Charging

  • After use, return the probe to the cradle and press the button to charge. The probe will not charge unless the button is pressed.
  • The light on the charge base will be solid green when the probe is charging, and solid red when the AA batteries need to be replaced. A flashing red light means there is no probe detected in the base.

See Wireless Probe Support Article for more detailed information on connecting to Bluetooth, cleaning, and storage.

TIP 1

Protein Handling

  • Frozen food: thaw frozen protein one night before in fridge
  • Cook protein directly from the cold state (35 -55 °F)
  • Pat protein dry before cooking

TIP 2

Zone Filling

  • Completely fill the zones and all ingredients should be spread evenly.

TIP 3

Tray Usage

  • Metal Tray cooks much faster because of its ability to absorb more heat from the lamps.
  • The Glass Tray is frequently used to cook fish and vegetables.

TIP 4

Daily Cleaning

  • Gently wipe cooking chamber and camera glass with a clean, soft, damp cloth once Brava has cooled down.
